Rising Eagle Resort

Mt. Bachelor

The Mt. Bachelor resort’s mission is to help guests make memorable experiences and have fun while they do it. They believe that the best thing for the soul is to spend time with your loved ones and do things you love.

The mountain first came to light in the winter of 1928 when some Scandinavian lumber workers came to central Oregon. Over the years, the place continued to grow in popularity and, in the 1950's, Bill Healy started working on gaining funding for a ski slope, with the grand opening occurring in 1958.

Since then, the place has seen over 500,000 skiers. The mountain has become a year-round place to visit. They have a lot of great summer and winter activities to enjoy. The winter offers skiing, snowboarding, tubing, snowshoeing and sled dog rides. They have nearly 4300 acres of skiable terrain, a total of 360 degrees of skiing summit and 3365 feet of total vert. In the summertime, the mountain is a popular place to enjoy the all access lift pass, a downhill bike ride, scenic views, golfing, ziplining, hiking, rafting, and great food.

Mt. Bachelor is located inside Deschutes National Forest and is able to operate because of a special permit that they have with the United States Forest Service (USFS). They have been partnered for over 50 years. If you would like to learn more about the watershed, plants, and animals of the area, make sure that you check out the USFS Snowshoe Tours.

The resort works to support the community and likes to focus its charitable giving on organizations that improve central Oregon's way of life.

It is easy to spend a whole day here with all the activities that are available. The lift hours until April are from 9 am to 4 pm. For the remainder of the season they operate from 8:30 am to 1:30 pm.
